Do I need to do Essential Learner Driving (EDT)?
If your first learner permit for a car is dated on or after 4th April 2011, you must complete EDT programme. All learner drivers must have completed EDT before you can sit a driving test.

What is a sponsor?
A sponsor is an experienced driver, often a family member or friend, who accompanies a learner driver in their practice driving sessions. By law learner drivers are expected to be accompanied by someone holding a full licence. The RSA’s Essential Driver Training (EDT) programme has identified a sponsor as playing a key role in safe driving education.
Are you ADI RSA approved?
Yes. Blake’s Driving School is owner operated by Blake O’Connor who is ADI qualified, registered & RSA approved.
Are cars fully insured?
Yes. Cars are fully insured, taxed & have current NCT.
Do you have a dual controlled car?
Yes. All lessons & training is conducted in a dual controlled car.
Do you do door to door collection?
Blake does door to door collection & drop off in surrounding areas. Otherwise Blake operates from two conveniently located central collection points. One either at or in close proximity to the Wilton Test Centre on Sarsfield’s Road and one in Douglas outside Dunnes Stores.
Do you know the driving test routes?
Yes. Blake knows all the driving test routes & the driving test marking guidelines.
Is car hire available for the driving test?
Yes. Blake’s Driving Test Car Hire Package (subject to T & C’s) comprises of car hire with a one hour assessment required prior to car hire being granted.
