ADI Driving Instructor Training

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is the agency responsible for conducting all theory and practical driving tests in the Republic of Ireland and has responsibility for maintaining the Register of Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs).

To become an approved driving instructor will take more than just driving skills. You will need good communication skills, enthusiasm and patients. The driving instructor training syllabus comprises three modules or stages. Blake will guide you through these to fulfilling your ambition of a challenging and exciting new career as an Approved Driving Instructor.

Stage One: Examining knowledge of the Rules of the Road, road safety & driving instruction matters

Stage Two: Assessing driving ability & driving competence, assessed against a more detailed driving criteria

R

Stage Three: Examining the ability of the ADI candidate to deliver tuition / coaching to the novice driver

ADI Register – The name of an applicant who passes the three stage examination or is approved following assessment of their existing qualifications will be entered into the ADI Register.
